Sikhs and 12'O Clock

Hindus use the 12'O clock joke to strut the Sikhs without even knowing what it is all about. In turn, the Sikh victims get infuriated without quite knowing the origins of the joke, now lost in the mists of time. If the Sikhs knew the real story, they would be proud to be alluded to as the '12’O clock people', and the Hindus would regard them with a new respect. To understand the joke, we have to go back to the time of Guru Gobind Singh. Sikh army although fewer in numbers but were brave-hearted and attacked at midnight, 12’O clock and rescued helpless women of Hindu folks who were kidnapped by the Mughals. After that, whenever there occurred a similar incidence, people started to contact the Sikh army for their help and Sikhs used to attack the raiders at midnight, 12’O clock. Nowadays, these "smart people" and some Sikh enemies who are afraid of Sikhs have spread these words that at 12’O clock, the Sikhs go out of their senses. Knowing this historical fact will bring a smile on our face instead of a frown on our forehead over the person as his Mother or Sister would be in trouble and he may need our help reminding us our history by saying off 'Sardarji Barah Baj Gaye.'
